The Working Girl

True. What most ppl want is a househelper who comes with cash and jewellery and appliances and a status symbol. They need a well educated housemaid. As long as she is earning there will be sighs about how 'bahu' is earning a lot, but hardly does household work. And when she quits the job to become a housewife, she will be made to feel the guilt of not contributing to the family coffers. The children will be brainwashed into believing that their mothers work because they do not care about them, the new PS2 they got was a 'bribe' OR that there mother (and all females) are good enough only for house work and hence can be treated as such!! We cannot blame the guys as half the blame rests with the mother in laws and the woman herself who believes that she IS a second class citizen! Bella

A day to remember

Why was your wife's photo garlanded. And if it is the obvious answer, when did this happen?
It is never easy to lose a partner, whichever type it is.

Important Announcement About Sulekha Rewards

THANK YOU.
GOD BLESS YOU for finally getting rid of the main cause for the spam cluttering our sulekha. Now all of us can get relief from the idiots who have made it their lives' mission to spam the site.

Blogging: Data survey & analysis

Dear Doc,
That was an in-depth analysis. The very fact that points redeeming has been withdrawn is like music to my ears. I was one of the crazy souls who had more than one-and-half times the points needed for redeeming, but never bothered to do it. Now i'm proud of that.

As for the ranking, let me be honest; it was a great feeling to see your rank rise first rapidly, then slowly. I finally broke into the 1000, but i'd really like to break into 100. Now that the ranking system is going to go, i feel a little sad too.

The main way to restrict spam is not to reward after 25/50 or so, but for the number of comments someone recieves and for number of views. That'll ensure that ppl who post movie reviews, C & P posts and other related nonsence stay way back in the system, provided that they do not create multiple identities and comment on their own blogs. And fine/delete points if they reproduce copyrighted material.

I find sulekha a great place to unwinf after a hectic day. At times i even blog at odd hours, when i get free time. It has really helped me to reduce my stress levels as all my thoughts and frustrations get an outlet. I pray sulekha goes back to being the site it was.

One a rainy day, one haunting memory

Hi Doc,
I believe in the cycle/circle of life; what goes around comes around. Your deed came around. I pray that that boy/now man starts a circle of his own. Our counry needs such circles.
